There is an old house in a rural portion of Northeastern Tennessee. The manor house was once owned by a recluse, no one really knew him and he maintained his privacy. Gossips and tall tales revolved around him and the locals eventually began to call him a “warlock,” just because of his behavior. His house became the “Warlock’s House.” For the purpose of the story, we’ll continue with tradition and call him, “Warlock.”
Warlock rarely went into town unless he needed supplies. One day he came in days after visiting and had an argument with a Feed Store owner. Warlock believed he had been sold rotten feed for his animals. In 1925, a few people witnessed the argument, but no one thought anything of it. However, soon after, the merchant began suffering a strange number of tragedies, both personal and financial. It continued until the poor man committed suicide.
The townspeople were livid. The merchant was a popular member of the community and suspicion fell on the Warlock for causing it all. A mob formed and marched to the Warlock’s House with torches in hand. The mob tried their best to burn the house down, but as soon as fire caught around the structure, others arrived and talked the enraged group out of destruction. They left the area in flames, but by morning there was little evidence. The fire had singed some of the surrounding weeds and brush, but the house was fine.
The Sheriff claimed he investigated, but found no trace of physical violence or damage to the man.
Despite the fact that the house changed over the years, as if someone lived there, no one saw the Warlock again. Around 20 years later, the mysterious hermitage somehow developed a new green roof.
During the 1970s, a group of teens decided to break in and, to their surprise, found the house to be paranormally active. Strange shapes and shadows followed them until they left.
Currently, the house is essentially undocumented, aside from a few tales about the events surrounding it.
Awesome website you have here but I was curious about if you knew of any discussion boards that cover the same topics discussed in this article? I¡¯d really like to be a part of online community where I can get responses from other experienced people that share the same interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Cheers!
Thank you for visiting!
No, I don’t know of any discussion boards, although that is a great idea. I may add one on in the future, if there would be enough interest for it. Thanks!
I just wanted to thank you yet again for this amazing website you have designed here. It can be full of ideas for those who are genuinely interested in that subject, specifically this very post. You really are all so sweet as well as thoughtful of others and reading the blog posts is a good delight to me. And what generous present! Tom and I will have pleasure making use of your ideas in what we have to do in the future. Our record is a mile long so your tips might be put to very good use.
